Anti Wrinkle Injectables Melbourne

What Are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

Anti-wrinkle Injectables are a non-surgical option used to reduce the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles by gently relaxing the muscles responsible for skin contractions. These treatments may help to achieve smoother skin, address facial concerns, and manage specific conditions.

This procedure uses a neurotoxin to block the chemical signals that the brain sends to the muscle telling the muscle to contract. Once these muscles are relaxed the wrinkles become softer and less apparent, creating the appearance of smoother skin.

This non-surgical procedure is particularly effective in reducing the appearance of frown lines, forehead lines, smile lines and lines around the eyes such as crow’s feet. It can also be used to treat headaches, migraines, teeth grinding, excessive underarm sweating and hayfever.

common treatment areas

What areas can be treated?

Forehead, frown lines, crow’s feet, bunny lines, brow lift, temples for tension headache relief.

Smoker’s lines, gummy smile, smile lines, lip flip/lip inversion, jaw slimming/masseter reduction, DAO (correction of downward smile), Nefertiti neck lift, jawline lift, bulky and dimpling chin.

The masseter muscles (also known as the “chewing muscles”) are located on either side of the jaw. Masseter reduction/jaw slimming treatment is designed to soften a prominent square jaw to produce a more feminine and softer face shape. Not only does it provide aesthetic slimming and softening of the jawline, but it can also help with bruxism, a condition characterised by excessive clenching and grinding of the teeth, which can cause jaw muscle enlargement and subsequent tension and pain.

During the procedure, muscle relaxants are carefully injected into multiple points of the masseter muscles on both sides of your face. The right dosage and injection points are crucial for achieving aesthetic results and providing relief from tension and pain. The amount of muscle relaxant used varies based on your medical history, whether it’s your first or subsequent injection and your desired aesthetic outcome.

Hyperhidrosis is a condition that may cause discomfort, embarrassment, and inconvenience due to excessive sweating under the arms. Fortunately there is a solution. Sweat reduction can be achieved by injecting muscle relaxant into the underarm to block the signals that activate sweat glands.

Hay fever is a common condition that affects approximately 18% of the Australian population. The symptoms can range from mild to severe, including a runny or congested nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, headaches, and daytime tiredness. Many patients find themselves relying on daily tablets and nasal sprays, often with limited success.

Over the last decade, research has found that the same ingredient used for anti wrinkle injections is a safe and effective treatment option for hay fever sufferers who have struggled to find relief elsewhere.

It is sprayed topically into the nasal passage, which blocks the nerve signals in the nasal passage which trigger the onset of hay fever symptoms. The process is very quick and without any discomfort or side effects.

For some people, their ‘traps’ can appear enlarged and become more prominent, and this added bulk raises the area between the neck and the shoulder to sit higher. It shortens the neck and thickens the back.

Trapezius Slimming Injections work by targeting the overactive trapezius muscle, relaxing the muscle to inhibit it from overactivity, and allowing the bulky muscle that’s accumulated to wear down and shrink.

The result is a visible slimming of the treated area. In the case of trapezius, the outcome is a sleeker, elegant appearance for the neck and shoulders with an improved definition of the shoulder-to-neck angle. It can also enhance the appearance of good posture.

Frequently asked questions

General Anti-Wrinkle FAQs

With a focus on rejuvenation, regeneration and enhancing natural beauty, we offer personalised solutions to individual aesthetic concerns.

Individual results and recovery times may vary for anti-wrinkle treatments. This will be discussed with your practitioner before proceeding with treatment.

All our non-surgical procedures are considered medical procedures and are performed by our Registered Nurses (RN). Although complications are rare, potential risks and side effects associated with the treatment may include redness, swelling, bruising, temporary discomfort, and allergic reactions. All risks will be discussed in detail during the consultation.

The treatment consists of several injections into the targeted facial muscles. This is a treatment that can be done in just one session of just 15 minutes, not including the consultation time. For new client consultations, please allow 30-45 minutes to assess your requirements and create a treatment plan.

For most Anti-wrinkle treatments, results may be seen within 3-4 days however, most people report seeing optimum results after two weeks. This is great, because there is no dramatic change in appearance immediately after the appointment. It is likely that no one will even know that the person has received the treatment on the day of the injections.

There is no to very little downtime or recovery following the procedure. Many people even schedule their appointments over lunch breaks or in between other activities. Because the appointment time can be kept to a minimum, an hour-long lunch break is plenty of time to receive anti wrinkle injections. Common post-treatment effects include bruising at injection site, pin-point blood spots, lumps/bumps that appear immediately after treatment and will usually subside within a few hours.

Anti wrinkle injection longevity will vary from each individual. Forehead lines usually last up to 8 weeks compared to other areas 3-4 months

A tailored post-care guide will be provided at your appointment. Here are some general post-care:

  • Do not rub or touch the treated area until the next morning. No facial treatments, laser, or massage. This is to help avoid any complications.
  • It is recommended you do not lie down for the next 4 hours as you may inadvertently rub the treated areas. For the same reason you shouldn’t do strenuous exercise after treatment.
  • Avoid exposure to any heat treatments such as sauna, hot tub or tanning for up to 48 hours.
  • Paracetamol is recommended for any headaches or pain. Avoid medicines such as ibuprofen (Nurofen) or diclofenac (Voltaren) for the next 24 hours.
  • There is a small risk of bruising. If this occurs do not worry as it is temporary, it’s generally minor and can easily be covered up with makeup. Arnica tablets and cream helps reduce bruising.
  • Your treatment will take 4-14 days to start working. If after 2 weeks, you feel that you still have more muscle movement than expected, then this can be adjusted and discussed at your 2 week review.
