LHALA Chemical Peel Melbourne

What is The Glass Skin Facial?

Traditional chemical peels typically involve the application of AHAs, BHAs, PHAs or TCA to exfoliate the skin and stimulate cell turnover.

While this exfoliation process can lead to significant improvements in skin texture and appearance, it may also result in temporary side effects such as redness, stinging, burning sensations, and flaking. These side effects may not be suitable to those with sensitive skin.

Our solution? The LHALA Peel.

Unlike other chemical peels, the LHALA Peel offers powerful skin benefits, with reduced skin irritation and redness, less harm to the skin’s lipid membrane and minimal clinical downtime.

The LHALA Peel incorporates a range of powerful ingredients to maximise its effectiveness and deliver results.

  • P-Sol: Derived from natural oils such as olive and coconut, this ingredient stimulates the epidermis, activates fibroblasts, protects the skin surface, generates a barrier of proteins and lipids, and remodels collagen and fibrous tissue.

  • LHA (lipo hydroxy acid): An oil-soluble peeling agent, LHA features a novel substance called Capryloyl Salicylic Acid. It exfoliates in a similar way to the skin’s natural process; promoting dermal regeneration by stabilising skin dissolution of alkali, while safely protecting and normalising the skin barrier without irritation.

  • Lipids: The inclusion of a phospholipid compound, similar to the natural skin structure of the stratum corneum, helps restore damaged skin and ensures normal skin function.

With the LHALA Chemical Peel, you can achieve healthy, rejuvenated skin that radiates a youthful glow. Whether you have specific skin concerns or simply desire a refreshing boost, this treatment is suitable for everyone, regardless of skin sensitivity.

Individual results and recovery times may vary. This will be discussed with your practitioner before proceeding with treatment.

The majority of patients typically experience minimal discomfort during chemical peels. It is common for patients to describe a warm to hot sensation and/or tingling during the procedure.

The most common post-peel side effects are minimal to mild flaking, peeling, and mild dryness. It is important to note that these side effects are actually positive indicators, reflecting the skin’s regenerative process. Side effects may vary depending on the peel used and individual’s skin. Some patients will experience no side effects.

Due to its formulation, the LHALA peel is less likely to cause side effects and is suitable for those who are more prone to skin reactions.

You will be advised of pre and post-peel protocols during your initial consultation. After a chemical peel you should:

  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 5-10 days after the procedure, including solarium use.
  • Use physical sun protection with a minimum SPF of 30+.
  • Refrain from waxing and hair removal procedures for 7-14 days after the procedure.
  • Avoid facial treatments for at least 14 days post-procedure.
  • Refrain from strenuous activities for 24 hours after the procedure, including hot yoga, steam rooms, and saunas.
  • Do not use exfoliating products for 3-5 days or as advised by your clinician.
  • If scabbing occurs on the treated area, avoid picking the skin.

We do not recommend chemical peels while pregnant or breastfeeding.
