How Does The Skin52 Camouflage Work?

If you have prominent scars or stretch marks, you may have spent time and money experimenting with different techniques to lessen their appearance – such as covering them with makeup or using specialised creams and oils. Our scar camouflage treatment is a semi-permanent ‘cover up’ solution.

Skin52 is one of the most advanced treatments for scar camouflage and skin tone correction. After a thorough consultation and skin tone assessment, a coloured pigment is selected to closely match your existing skin tone. This pigment is then applied over your scar or stretch mark, similarly to a cosmetic tattoo.

With a vast selection of over 50 shades of specialised pigments designed for specific skin tones, you can easily select the ideal option to effectively conceal scars, stretch marks, and any inconsistencies in your skin tone.

What kind of Scars & Stretch Marks can be treated?

Stretch marks occur when the skin is stretched due to various factors such as growth spurts, pregnancy, weight gain or loss, hormonal changes, or certain medical conditions. They commonly occur on the body, such as the stomach, breasts, hips, thighs, buttocks and more.

This type of procedure is ideal for:

  • Matured stretch marks (white/silver)
  • Matured flat scars
  • Vitiligo (diagnosed and managed by a dermatologist)
  • Hypopigmented skin and wish to match their skin tone

It is not effective and cannot disguise extreme changes in texture, such as keloid and hypertrophic scars. Everyone’s skin is unique, and results may vary depending on factors such as the age, depth, and location of the scars or stretch marks.

My scar, being on my face always caused me to be very self conscious and I’m glad to say I’m now much more comfortable. I barely notice it. And believe me I scrutinise it from every angle! I even wear my hair back now. Something I would never have envisaged possible.” – Cat

Skin52 Camouflage FAQs

You may experience minor discomfort, however it is very manageable.

We recommend between 2-4 sessions. Your scar or stretch marks will be assessed during your initial consultation, and we will be able to estimate the sessions required.

The pigmentation will last between 12-18 months. We recommended maintenance treatments 1-2 times per year for the best long-term aesthetic outcomes.

The area may be red and swollen for 24-48 hours. Use the topical after care provided for the first few days to assist the healing processes.

The colour of the pigment will darken over the first few days as scabs begin to form.

The scabs will start to shed and fall off on their own between 10-14 days. Do not pick them off – picking can cause scarring, loss of pigment and/or infection.

  • Use the provided topical after care for the first few days to assist the healing process
  •  Avoid hot showers, swimming, saunas and exercises for up to 48 hours.
  • You may apply a simple fragrance free moisturiser 5-7 days after treatment to prevent the skin drying out and becoming crusty and flaky.
